Hackett House Tempe | Julie + Brad’s Wedding

Historic Hackett House in Tempe was built in 1888 and was Tempe’s first bakery. It is a quaint little venue tucked in off of Mill Ave. in the heart of downtown Tempe. This charming little spot was where we celebrated Brad and Julie tying the knot this past Friday! Brad is an old family friend that I hadn’t seen since childhood prior to their wedding photography consultation, so it was a pleasure to photograph this momentous event for him and his bride.

I loved this amazing first look on the brick stairs right outside the venue.  They were both so excited to see each other all dolled up and both so filled with emotion, their joy overflowed.  It is by far my favorite moment to capture when I photograph weddings and I always recommend a first look!  hackett house wedding | First look | tempe photographer | Hackett House Tempe hackett house wedding | First look | tempe photographer

But no college town would be complete with out the drunk girl sleeping on the steps that I had to shoo away to get this amazing moment for bride and groom.  But what would a wedding photography adventure be without a good story!hackett house wedding

These two were naturals at whispering sweet nothings to each other.  After 7 years together you know just what to say to get these sweet natural reactions of pure love and joy.hackett house wedding | Hackett House Tempe | Tempe wedding photographer | Lisa d. We crossed the street Beatle’s style and took portraits at Tempe Mission Palms Hotel in their beautiful courtyard.mission palms Tempe | Tempe wedding photographer | Lisa d. PhotographyTempe Mission Palms | Tempe wedding photographer | Lisa d. Photography

Julie’s family gets the record for largest immediate family I’ve ever photographed, she is one of 9 brothers and sisters!  The funny part is Brad is an only child!  What a perfect balance!
Hackett House served not only as the reception hall but as the ceremony site as well.  A short but sweet emotional ceremony.
